tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion – chopped
4
oz mushrooms - finely sliced
1kg/2lb
boneless lamb steaks – trimmed and cubed
2
tbsp dried crushed chillies
1
tsp ground nutmeg
1
tbsp fennel seeds
1
tsp black onion seeds
2
red peppers – seeded and chopped
2 green peppers – seeded and chopped
1
pint Balti sauce (see Balti sauce recipe)

tbsp chopped fresh coriander
2
tbsp lemon juice

sprigs, to garnish
Heat
oil over a high heat in a large pan and fry onion for 2/3 minutes, add mushrooms
and cook for a further 2/3 minutes. Add
lamb and cook for 5 minutes.
Add
chillies, nutmeg, fennel seeds and black onion seeds and stir fry for 2 minutes.
Add the peppers and Balti sauce and continue to cook for 10/15 minutes
until lamb is tender.
Just
before serving, stir in the fresh coriander and lemon juice.
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Garnish
with coriander sprigs.
Serve
with Naan bread.
