Bread and Butter Pudding
Spread bread thickly with butter, cut into fingers, small square or triangles
Place half into a 2 pint greased ovenproof dish
Sprinkle with half the fruit and half the sugar
Top with remaining bread, buttered side uppermost, sprinkle with remaining fruit and sugar
Beat eggs and milk well together, pour over the bread and fruit
Leave to stand for 30 mins so that the bread absorbs the liquid
Bake at 170c (325F) Mark 3 for about 45mins - 1 hour until pudding is set and top is crisp
Tip: - Mix fruit and sugar together also you can add a tsp of mixed spice, cinnamon or nutmeg if liked.
